One diagram on the Cross City line was being operated by a brand new Class 730 Aventura 6 car set on 3rd May 2024. It is seen powering through Barnt Green non stop on the late running 2O46 the 1609 Lichfield TV to Bromsgrove, with 730011 & 730019 officiating on the working.
It shortly reappeared heading north on 2P51 the 1729 Bromsgrove to Lichfield TV.
As it was due back from Lichfield later I amended my dog walk to take in a run from Bournville to New St on the retro Centro liveried Class 323 no 323221. At New St we walked over to platform 12 in time to see the 730’s arrive - 730019 leading 730011.
Myself and the dog then have a walk through the 6 coach train - its interior massively different to the existing 323’s - much more spacious.
We alight at Bournville and 730019 & 11 depart in the rain towards Kings Norton.
