Israel says an attack on the Lebanese capital Beirut targeted a prominent Hezbollah commander.
The IDF said the man ordered an attack on a football pitch in the Israeli-occupied Golan Heights at the weekend that killed 12 young people.
Hezbollah has denied being behind that rocket strike.
There are fears the conflict between the two sides could soon lead to all-out war.
