King Salman concluded his historic visit to Moscow
on Sunday and returned to Riyadh
The first visit of its kind by a Saudi monarch
to Russia lasted four days
The Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques sent a letter
of gratitude and appreciation to Russian President Vladimir Putin
Stressing his determination to move forward
in promoting bilateral relations in all fields
To work on pursuing coordination and discussions
regarding issues of mutual interest to serve both
peoples’ welfares and to maintain security and peace
King Salman met at the Kremlin with President Putin
who accepted the former’s invitation to visit the Kingdom
He also received at his place of residence in Moscow
President of Chechnya, Ramzan Kadyrov
As well as the President of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov, the President
of Bashkortostan, Rustem Khamitov,
and President of Ingushetia, Yunus-bek Yevkurov
He also met with members of the Saudi-Russian Business Council
And with Russian PM Dimitri Medvedev who stressed
that Russia will implement the commitments
under the agreements signed with Saudi Arabia as soon as possible
On his last day in Russia, the King received an honorary doctorate
from Moscow’s State Institute of International Relations
Before receiving Grand Mufti of the Central Religious
Department for Russia's Muslims, Sheikh Tala'at Tajjuddin,
accompanied by various prominent Islamic figures
He stressed the importance of communication and dialogue
among followers of all faiths and cultures to bolster
principles of tolerance and fight extremism in the name of security and peace
