LYRICS / WORDS
ELLIE COPTER - Nee Naw & Friends
There was a dinky little fire truck playing ping-pong,
though smaller than the others, his aim was never wrong.
When Granny rang the station: “HELP! This fire won’t stop!
Here am I, picking plums – trapped on the hill top!”
Two silly billy goats had snuck through a wire …
then Plinky and Plonky started playing with fire.
So Nee Naw took off with a FFFTTT, PLOP, BANG
and his crew clung on as he proudly sang:
“NEE NAW! NEE NAW! I’m a little fire engine.
NEE NAW! NEE NAW! I’m happy I’m me.”
As Nee Naw got closer, he braked with a SQUEEEEAK.
The burning bridge collapsed and he couldn’t cross the creek!
“We’re sorry,” cried Plonky, “for the mess we’ve made.
Now our beards have caught fire! We’re very afraid!”
Nee Naw thought quickly as he took control,
and yelled to the goats: “STOP, DROP and ROLL!”
“With the bridge burnt down,” he said to his crew,
“I’ll call my friend Ellie, she can help us too!”
“NEE NAW! NEE NAW! I’m a little fire engine.
NEE NAW! NEE NAW! Ellie, HELP ME!”
With a whirr of her blades, and her bucket in tow,
Ellie Copter flew in, all ready to go.
As she scooped up water, she rose higher and higher,
then dumped that water on top of the fire.
It splashed on the goats and Granny and the grass!
They all got soaked – but were safe at last.
Ellie’s blades spun faster as she got busy
drying Granny and the goats ... but leaving them frizzy!
I’m Ellie Copter (pitta-pitta-pitta),
I can fly high (pitta-pitta-pitta),
Ellie Copter (pitta-pitta-pitta),
helping from the sky (pitta-pitta-pitta).
Granny clapped and cheered, but the goats were feeling sad.
“You shouldn’t play with fire,” they said, “it’s very, very B-A-AD.
”
Thanking Nee Naw and Ellie, they breathed a great big sigh,
then off they jigged to Grany’s where they gobbled up plum pie.
“NEE NAW! NEE NAW! I’m a little fire engine.
NEE NAW! NEE NAW . . .With my friend Ellie.”
“I’m happy I’m mm-mm-mm-mm-me.”
“I’m happy I’m me.”
