SHOCKING moment carless child narrowly avoids being crushed by a speeding fire engine on an emergency dash through West Bromwich.

According to the West Midlands Fire Service, firefighters were responding to a report of a fire when the child ran in front of the truck.

Footage posted to Facebook shows the child running in front of the vehicle near a crosswalk in West Bromwich.

“The incident brings home the importance of road safety for all. Whether you’re behind the wheel or on foot, please pay attention to what’s happening around you,” the fire service advised.
