What’s going on everyone, this is Julienne, we finally made an appointment and visited the Super73 shop in Irvine to test drive the S2 and RX model. We wanted to see what the hype is all about and was praying they would somehow have any bikes in stock, even a used one! Especially a used one, a discount would've been great. We just hate the anxiety waiting months for a bike. Unfortunately they had zero available for sale, so we would have to preorder online just like everyone else. Moving on, we were in between both models and hoping that the test drive can help us make a decision. These bikes had about an $800 difference and we wanted to see why.
Aaron gave us the breakdown and informed us that our parameters of test driving were only in the parking lot. Bummer, we wanted to go max speed. In summary, these bikes are the zippiest class 2 ebikes on the market and you would definitely yearn an upgrade once you ride it. The RX has 3 things over the S2 model, a rear suspension, a horn, and a better braking system. It is also slightly taller and heavier than the S2. It was hard to justify the price of an RX let alone most Super73 bikes. Asides a great quality bike, you would be buying into the Super73 culture and lifestyle. I was convinced on ordering the S2 until my wife Crystal expressed she liked the RX more. She even went further as to offering to buy both, one for each of us. As awesome as that sounds, realistically, I feel that would be too excessive. We would have to get rid of our other bikes to afford them, and besides I told her I don’t mind sharing at all.
After hours of researching, we opted to preorder the S2 model, there just wasn’t that much difference internally. As our main deciding factor, we didn’t feel comfortable that the R models can handle heavy off road trails. In our opinion, the R models were too pricey and there are much more affordable bikes built for off roading.
