Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray has slammed Shiv Sena’s former ally Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in an interview to Shiv Sena mouthpiece Saamana.
In an interview to Shiv Sena Rajya Sabha MP and Saamana editor Sanjay Raut on the occasion of the completion of one year of the Maha Vikas Aghadi government, Uddhav Thackeray spoke on a number ranging from his family being targeted in the Sushant Singh Rajput case to ‘love jihad’ politics.
“I am quiet but that does not mean I am impotent. Attacking family is not our culture. This is also Hindutva culture. If you are targeting our families and children, then they should also remember that they too have families and children. They are not like clean rice. If we decide, we know how to cook their ‘khichdi’,” Maharashtra CM Uddhav Thackeray said in an attack on the BJP and other Opposition parties in the state.
In a veiled reference to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Uddhav Thackeray added, “If you are misusing power, remember that power does not last forever. They too have faced cases in the past and Shiv Sena supremo [Bal Thackeray] had saved them.”
Responding to a question about the Opposition’s claim that he does not do anything beyond telling people to wash their hands in his speeches, CM Uddhav Thackeray told Saamana, “I am only telling people to wash hands for now. If they continue with such attacks, haath dhoke pichhe padunga (I will come after them).”
