This past summer has seen #heatwaves in California, Greece, Turkey and Algeria, while July was the hottest month ever recorded on Earth. Urban centres are disproportionately affected by #globalwarming, with #cities often several degrees warmer than the countryside in summer months. Paris and its suburbs have become an open-air laboratory for testing out new solutions. In the next 80 years, the French capital will see up to an extra two months of heatwaves per year. As a result, local authorities are working out how best to adapt.
