Librettist Maria Elena Yepes, composer David Reyes and director Dr. Steven Loza, provide their personal reflections on the creation of El Circo Anahuac and its successful run at LA Plaza, share updated versions of current and new songs, and present a brief pre-recorded performance with singers and dancers. El Circo Anahuac, an Aztec Opera telling the ancient tale of the twin volcanoes outside Mexico City, Popocaltepetl (Smoky Mountain) and Ixtlacihualt (The Sleeping Woman), was staged successfully at LA Plaza during October and November, 2018. The pandemic halted plans for 2020, including fundraisers and performances.
