One-person internet broadcasting is wildly popular among children, because anyone can film a video segment with a few simple broadcasting devices. However, some of these online shows are distasteful and children can be exposed to inappropriate images.

A little girl is seen whimpering that she's hungry.
[Soundbite] "I'm hungry!"
She then secretly takes her parents' car key and climbs into a car.
[Soundbite] "Shall we go?"
The video shows the entire precarious drive from her home to a fast food restaurant.
[Soundbite] "Dad, I'm taking KRW 10,000 to play the claw game."
This footage shows a child taking a 10,000-won bill from her father's wallet and using it to play a claw game. Although these videos were all staged, parents of young children can't help but frown at the nature of the content.
[Soundbite] Yu Hee-jeong(Parent) : "The level of these internet broadcasts is beyond imagination. Children are naturally curious, but I'm worried that they may do something worse."
[Soundbite] "I will go smack him in the head."
Children copy a scene from a personal internet broadcast that had caused controversy with its absurd content.
[Soundbite] Kim Mu-song(Elementary School Student) : "The video looks fun, but it shouldn't be imitated."
The Korea Communications Standards Commission reviewed some 400 personal internet broadcast channels over the past two years, but was able to demand rectification, such as suspension of broadcasts, in only 100 cases. That is because the criteria for regulating provocative contents are vague.
[Soundbite] KCSC Official(Voice modified) : "Internet broadcasting is not broadcasting, but online content, so we can't impose any sanctions based on strict standards."
In order to block the spread of inappropriate videos, experts point out that service providers must be made to cooperate so that internet broadcast segments can be saved to be sanctioned even after they air.
