Satiate your sweet tooth instantly with this decadent trifle layered with vanilla sponge, custard, black grape mixture and whipped cream.
BLACK GRAPE TRIFLE
Ingredients
25-30 black grapes
¼ cup sugar
1 tbsp lemon juice
1½ cups whipped cream
100 grams eggless vanilla sponge cake, cut into 1 cm cubes
Sugar syrup as required
Vanilla custard as required
Sliced grapes for garnish
Mint sprigs for garnish
Method
1. Chop black grapes.
2. Heat a nonstick pan. Add the chopped grapes, sugar, lemon juice, ¼ cup water and mix well. Cook on medium heat for 6- 8 minutes. Set aside for cool.
3. Take whipped cream in a bowl. Add a portion of the stewed grapes and mix well.
4. Transfer sponge cake cubes in serving glasses and sprinkle some sugar syrup on top.
5. Pour custard on top. Top up with stewed grapes. Pipe the whipped cream mixture on top.
6. Garnish with sliced grapes, mint sprigs and serve chilled.
