Saint Conrad of Piacenza | Stories of Saints

Saint Conrad of Piacenza was an Italian nobleman who experienced a profound conversion after witnessing the sudden death of a friend. He entered the Franciscan Third Order, embracing a life of penance, prayer, and humility. Conrad lived as a hermit in a small cell near Noto, Sicily, dedicating himself to contemplation and mortification.

Despite numerous temptations and trials, he remained steadfast in his devotion to God. Known for his austere lifestyle and miracles, Conrad attracted many visitors seeking spiritual guidance. He died on February 19, 1351, and was canonized in 1625. Saint Conrad is venerated as a patron saint of those facing temptations and difficulties, revered for his profound faith and holiness. His feast day is celebrated on February 19.
