The San Diego Sockers take on the Baltimore Blast in Game 4 of the best of 7 series on May 25, 1985. Broadcast on the CBS Sports Spectacular anthology program, this game arguably marked the zenith of the MISL in national media. A close and competitive game might have meant further exposure on network TV. What audiences got instead was a lopsided contest completely dominated by the Sockers. Great for Sockers' fans. Bad for indoor soccer.

Still, this contest showed the Sockers at their best - as the class of the MISL - a league they would dominate until its folding in 1992. They would go on to win their fourth consecutive indoor title in five games. With Steve Zungul, Branko Segota, Brian Quinn, Jean Willrich, Kaz Deyna, and Kevin Crow.
