Two aged care homes in Victoria have been placed into lockdown after a resident at each facility tested positive to COVID-19.
A Hammond Care resident was tested a second time and returned a negative result but the Caulfield facility made the decision to go into lockdown yesterday as a precautionary measure.
A spokesperson for Hammond Care said they implemented their outbreak management plan and the Department of Health was investigating.
A second aged care facility in Melbourne's east was also placed in lockdown after one of its residents also tested positive to COVID-19.
Letters were sent to families of residents at the Linden Aged Care home at Camberwell as the facility undertakes contact tracing and testing residents.
Parts of the facility were isolated to curb the spread of the virus.
