The New Pamban Bridge, India’s first vertical lift sea bridge, is nearing completion in Tamil Nadu. Spanning 2,070 meters, it features 100 spans, including a 72.5-meter lift span, designed to allow larger vessels to pass. The project, costing ₹580 crore, is set to replace the century-old Pamban Cantilever Bridge, which had served for over 104 years.
