From Mid November to Early December, The Bay Area is blasting in fall color. Here are a few popular locations:
1. Japanese Friendship Garden in Kelly Park, San Jose
Parking is free thanks to Covid-19. Once covid-19 is gone, it is $6/car. The ponds are dried up due to lack of maintenance.
2. Evergreen Area, San Jose
You can parking along the street on Voltaire St. I suggest to walk onto Lago De Braccciano St. to view big-leaf maples. Make sure to check out the walkway near the end of Lago De Brecciano St. for blasting fall color.
3. Communication Hills, San Jose
You can park and walk along Marble Arch Ave for blasting Chinese pistache on both sides of the small avenue. Walk up the staircases and take a look down to experience fall in San Jose.
4. Downtown Saratoga, Saratoga (20 minutes from San Jose)
Very nice and scenic area. Parking is always free and easy to find. The downtown area is walking-friendly with small shops and eateries along CA-9.
5. Stanford University, Palo Alto
Park along Dowdoin St. and view the endless triple rows of Chinese pistache. Take a walk inside the campus starting from the visitor parking lot to view the campus. Also visit the nearby downtown Palo Alto and Elizabeth Gamble Garden for some nice color.
