Today, we commemorate #NationalAirborneDay, honoring the brave men and women of the U.S. Airborne Forces!

On this day in 1940, 48 courageous volunteers from the U.S. Army Parachute Test Platoon made history by completing the first official U.S. military parachute jump at Fort Moore (formerly Fort Benning), Georgia.
Their daring leap paved the way for the elite Airborne Forces, who have since exemplified valor and skill in defending our nation.
