This Policy Dialogue marked the completion of the EPC project on “Digitalisation for a clean energy transition” and the unveiling of a new EPC publication on the topic. The project and the event were supported by the Vodafone Institute for Society and Communications.
As highlighted by the European Commission’s recent action plan on digitalising the energy system, data and digital solutions can offer numerous possibilities for improving European energy systems, from generation to transport, from supply to consumption. Aligning the energy and digital agendas can contribute to achieving the European Green Deal’s goals while making the EU fit for the digital age.
The Policy Dialogue reflected on these ongoing developments and explored how data and digital solutions can accelerate the transition to a more sustainable, secure and affordable energy future. Panellists discussed the obstacles to achieving the full potential of digitalisation in the EU’s clean energy transition and the EU policy framework needed to unlock it.
