In this video I will explain India's new Digital Personal Data Protection Act. (DPDP) in simple language and shortest way possible. How these rules can be a big problem for social media websites and apps in India. Although these rules are written in multiple pages where a common man may find it difficult to understand so I am making things very simple here. The outline of this new act is as follows.
1. Companies must explain what data they collect and why.
2. Your permission is needed before data use.
3. Extra care is required for children's data.
4. Parental consent is mandatory for children's data.
5. Data can only be shared with approved countries.
6. Companies face strict penalties for data breaches.
7. You can request to view your data.
8. You can ask to correct or delete incorrect data.
