US Secretary of State Antony Blinken has wrapped up meetings in New Zealand, where he encouraged the Oceanic country to engage in the AUKUS alliance. The alliance is a landmark pact between the US, UK and Australia that aims to counterbalance China's rise in the Pacific. New Zealand has been treading carefully around AUKUS to avoid angering its largest trading partner, China. Foreign Minister Nanaia Mahuta also reiterated New Zealand's strong anti-nuclear stance and its ongoing support of a nuclear-free pacific.
