Hey guys, in this video i show off the XP and Damage systems and attempt to explain how they work :)
Taking a very short break from the previous map and showing off some statistics of the game now that the final class the warlord has been released so that you know what to play first!
I will start off with specializations and then move onto classes and races :)
---------- Experience ----------
heroes = tier 5 and leaders = tier6.
2 types of basic experience
1) Engage XP -- attacks & retaliations -- each action = 1xp per tier
T1 = 1xp
T2 = 2xp
... ... ...
T5 = 5xp
T6 =6xp
2) Killing XP -- the killing blow yields no Engage XP
5xp per tier, so:
T1 = 5xp
T2 = 10xp
... ... ...
T5 = 25xp
T6 = 30xp
Heroes yield extra xp based on their level
- 5 extra xp for every 5 levels
So a Lvl 14 hero = base 25 + 10 =35xp
And a Lvl 15 hero = base 25 + 15 = 40xp
Heroes and leaders also gain special types of XP
1) Living each day -- based on research level
2) Using tactical spells in combat -- based on mana cost of the spell
Every 4 points of many increases xp gained by 1.
Start off with 1 xp for 1-4 mana
5-9 = 2xp
10-14 = 3xp
Etc
Note Killing blow interrupts the magic engage xp and yields the killing blow xp instead
---------- Damage ----------
During attacks and retaliations, Attack Damage is increased by +10.
Take away opponents defence from new number.
Min damage is 1.
+ & - 20% of this number to find the potential damage range
Typical decimal point rounding (1.1 -- 1.4 = 1, 1.5 -- 1.9 = 2)
---------- Resistance ----------
Applied after damage calculation
---------- Crits & Fumbles ----------
+/- 35%
Roll chance once -- applied to each attack
Higher chance to fumble that crit
---------- Flanking ----------
+2 damage to all active dmg channels
Effect changing abilities are not effected -- only damage
---------- Cchance of Success ----------
Potency Vs Defence or Resistance depending on type of skill being used
Even potency vs resistence = 50%
i.e. 8 potency Vs 8 resistence = 50% chance to pass
Forumla
50% of the potency (attack-defense/resistence) = X*5%
Basically
Each point of difference is worth 5%
Hope this wasn't too confusing for you guys, leave a comment down below if your unsure about anything and i will do my best to get back to you :D
