Year 4 Springfield students felt compelled to put together an instructional video to show which bins to use for recycling. If general waste contaminates the recycling bins then the whole bag has to be sent away as landfill — instead of being recycled responsibly. We applaud Year 4 efforts to put together this instructional video, they worked hard to get a clear message across and be informative so students clearly understand the importance of using the right bins. Thank you again to all involved — the school community appreciates your help in being proactive environmental stewards.
So as Year 4 says “Don’t just throw it in — remember to use the right bin!”
An added benefit for recycling bottles and cans in the right bin is this will help raise money towards our Village Partnership for a village in Cambodia where they’re building a spillway so they can have water in their village.
