In 1999, the an enormous archaeological destruction took place in the Jerusalem's Temple Mount. A large pit was bulldozed and tons of dirt were removed from the site.
A group of archaeologists have established a sifting project for salvaging and studying the archaeological finds from the dirt. The project is about to shut down due to lack of funding.
