In today's Ask Jo, Francesca asks:
“Is it better to have a base price, then making it higher once you find out the exact client needs (research, validation, etc)? Or do you completely base it on the client’s budget? I know someone who said she always finds out their budget and prices way high for higher end clients and lower for lower budgets. It feels wrong to me.”
It should feel wrong.
If you change your price to meet a lower budget, that's not fair to you.
But if you change your price because there's a higher budget, that's not fair to them.
And as Jo notes in this episode, sometimes the word gets out.
So don't be that person.
Instead...
If you need to negotiate with a client about your price and their budget not matching, figure out what needs to be removed to make it work for both sides.
Jo will show you how she's done it in the past in today's video.
