Hi, I'm Trisha Selgrath. In this abbreviated video of art Xplained, I will guide you through my thought processes for creating this oil painting. I'll show the painting that started my fascination with Realism and point out which elements I chose to make higly detailed and which I left more painterly.

Whenever I create a painting, there are often parts of the painting that I love (or I wouldn’t show it) and some areas that I don’t. I can honestly say that I love this painting and all the little pieces that make the whole. It is representational of my life. All of the elements except for the expensive wine are from my home and the irises are from my garden. Originally, I painted this scene with a regular bottle of wine, but I fell in love with it and thought it needed a finer vintage. After researching $100+ vintages (out of my price range!), I decided on this one and replaced the low cost label. Painting the label freehand was the most challenging part because I do not trace!
