We are pleased to honor and feature Ted Hoff, our A. Richard Newton Kick-Off Speaker for the 10th Anniversary of our Series. Ted joined Intel in 1968 as the 12th employee, working with co-founder Robert Noyce. He was an integral part of two key inventions, critical to modern technology – The Intel 4004, the first commercial microprocessor and the CODEC switched-capacitor filter – the first commercial telephony technology to translate analog to digital.
In 1980, he became the first to hold the title, Intel Fellow, the highest technical position in the company. In 1996 he was inducted into the Inventor’s Hall of Fame. In 1997 he received the Kyoto Prize, Japan’s highest private award for global achievement and in 2010 President Obama awarded him the National Medal of Technology and Innovation for American inventors and innovators who have made significant contributions to the development of new and important technology.
