You will learn how to solve 3 hydraulic radius and wetted perimeter example problems for use in Manning’s Equation – rectangle and trapezoid channels and also circular pipes that are only partially full.

Hydraulic Radius of a rectangular channel and hydraulic radius of a trapezoidal channel are relatively quick to calculate because of their simple geometry. However, when a circular pipe is partially full, you’ll need to find the area of a partially filled pipe, based on the depth of the partially filled pipe. This isn’t a formula or procedure that most people have seen in a while, so I review how to find the area of a circular segment.
