El Consejo Nacional Electoral (CNE) ha dado pasada la medianoche como ganador de las elecciones presidenciales a Nicolás Maduro con el 51,2% de los votos frente al 44,2% del opositor Edmundo González Urrutia. La autoridad electoral, controlada por el chavismo, ha estimado una participación del 59% con el 80% de las actas escrutadas, calificando la tendencia de “irreversible”. Poco antes, la oposición había denunciado irregularidades en la transmisión de las actas y la expulsión arbitraria de testigos de los colegios electorales. “Estamos observando una importante cantidad de centros de votación donde están retirando a nuestros testigos. Otros donde se están negando a transmitir el resultado del acta”, ha afirmado Delsa Solórzano, representante de la oposición ante el CNE. Edmundo González, principal candidato opositor, había enfatizado por su parte que “los resultados son inocultables”.
