This tutorial is to demonstrate the proper procedures for a shave.
Step 1
Preparation for the hot towel shave.
Recline the chair making sure your client is secure.
Apply two sheets of paper towels on the upper neck. Make sure to ask if the client is comfortably leaned over.
Step 2
Apply a pink softener cream and work it into the face.
Apply the hot lather cream, followed by a hot towel.
Leave the hot towel in place for about two minutes. This softens the skin and the hair for a smooth clean shave.
Step 3
Prepare your razor.
Remove the hot towel and add another coating of the hot lather.
Step 4
Shave the entire face with the grain first. Make sure to be aware for bumps or and birthmarks. Holding the blade at a 45 degree angle!
Once completed. Apply another hot towel on the face and wait another two minutes.
Step 5
Remove the towel, apply a cleansing cream and rub it into the face.
Shave the opposite way.
Make sure to get as close as possible.
Step 6
Once completed, use cold towel to close the pours, and refresh the face.
Massage the face for a couple of minutes.
Step 7
Remove the cold towel, wipe off any cream left over and apply aftershave.
Shave complete!
