GCAM-KAIST 1.0, developed by KAIST, University of Maryland, and Solutions for Our Climate, is the first of its kind to implement an integrated assessment model that evaluates changes required to reach Korea’s national emissions targets.
Based on the model, the report found that Korea’s current government policies are highly insufficient to achieve both carbon neutrality by 2050 and 2030 NDC targets. The report clearly shows that Korea’s current policies are not enough, and that the Korean government must take quick and bold steps to achieve 2050 carbon neutrality.
