MY LEGISLATIVE AGENDA
As part of my primary function as a Legislator at the National Assembly, besides making robust contributions towards enactment of laws for the peace, order and good governance of the federation, I shall specifically pursue the following legislative agenda when elected to represent Idemili North and South Federal Constituency:
FISCAL FEDERALISM: – This shall be in line with the wishes of Ndigbo as captured in the Ekwueme Declaration of May 21, 2018. I shall initiate and support bills and motions aimed at devolving more fiscal powers from federal government to its constituent units.
SOUTH EAST DEVELOPMENT COMMISSION: – For the sake of equity and fairness, I shall initiate and support bill to establish a South East Development Commission for massive upgrade of the dilapidated infrastructure in the South East.
EROSION REMEDIATION BILL: – I shall on a bipartisan basis seek to amend the Act establishing the Ecological Fund with the objective of providing increased funding for ecological disasters such as erosion.
APPRENTICESHIP SCHEME/ITF AMENDMENT BILL: - Informal apprenticeship scheme has the driving force behind success or distribution of trade and commerce in South East, particularly in Anambra State. I shall initiate or support an amendment to the Act establishing the Industrial Training Fund to provide training and certification for the apprenticeship scheme.
A PUSH FOR THE SECOND NIGER BRIDGE: - I shall seek a bipartisan approach to the resolutions of all the political and financial implements to the speedy completion of the second Niger Bridge.
