So today we are going share something that isn’t fun but necessary for us to have fun next year. Today we are going to winterize our Forest River Flagstaff Micro Lite 25BDS. When I say winterize I mean we are preparing it for winter storage and freezing temperatures. So the main goal of winterizing the camper is to get all the plumbing protected so water doesn’t freeze and break a pipe. We do that by getting antifreeze in the lines and get all the water out of the bends and low spots on the plumbing.

Pre Step before we start get all the water out of the camper open up tanks and low water valves which we've typically done this on our last camping trip.

10 Steps:
1) Turn the valves to bypass the hot water tank
2)Turn the valve for the antifreeze line to go to the pump
3)Remove the water filter
4) Setup your antifreeze to get pumped in with a hose
5) Turn on the pump and let the lines fill
6) Run all the sinks, showers, and toilet
7) Pour extra antifreeze down the drain for the drain traps
8) Get some anti-freeze in the city water inlet valve. This isn’t in most directions but we were advised to do this by one of the local camper shops MB Thomas with our old camper because the have seen those valves break and it’s a big job to replace it.
9) Clean the camper out! This step doesn’t have anything to do with the plumbing but is an important step to clean the camper and make sure all the food is out and crumbs because we don’t want mice to be attracted inside because the can chew up the furniture and the camper and make a mess.
10) Store your camper and take the batter and put it on a trickle charger


3 caveats:
1) Remove Hot water tank anode
2) Open Low water drain plugs and let the system drain then put the caps back on
3) Drain Fresh Water Tank and put a little antifreeze in the tank and let it drain
