Ukrainian military released on Saturday recovered drone footage that it said showed Russian tanks and soldiers positioned near the village of Mala Rohan, in the eastern Kharkiv region.
The drone video, which is said to be filmed March 13, appears to show military vehicles concealed among trees.
At one point people in trenches can be seen taking aim at the camera, before white flashes of bullets fly past.
The 92nd Mechanised Brigade of Ukraine Armed Forces said the drone footage was taken on a reconnaissance flight over where they believed Russian forces had taken position in March.
The drone was shot down by Russian forces and has recently been recovered by the military, the Armed Forces' press office said.
Ukraine's army said in late March it had liberated the village north of Kharkiv from Russian troops. Ukrainian soldiers were seen firing Grad rockets from positions outside of Mala Rohan on May 5.
Reuters was unable to geolocate the exact terrain shown in the drone footage. However, the electric lines, fields and trees on the Google Earth images near Mala Rohan are like those in the video.
Weather conditions were cool in March near Mala Rohan and it snowed in Kharkiv region on March 11, with a clear sky reported on March 13.
