In March 2020, the US Embassy encouraged citizens living or vacationing in Mexico to return home during the COVID 19 lockdown in Mexico. If you have never taken Mexico HWY 15 and plan to return to the US from Mexico using the Nogales border, this video is a 15-minute documentary of my solo road trip between Puerto Vallarta, Jalisco, to Nogales, Senora during the end of April 2020.

The entire road trip between the two cities is about 20 hours long. At the time I traveled, gas stations on the highway were open, and some toll booths were manned by locals asking for a donation. The goal of this video is to provide you with a preview of the road ahead as you travel on a portion of Mexico HWY 15.

I was scared to travel back by myself during a worldwide crisis because I saw conflicting stories and received different input from various people. From this experience, I learned that if I let my fear take control of me I would still be in Mexico. I love Mexico but I had to return to the US for several personal reasons. I am glad I made the decision to travel.
