This is a video in my new series of 1-on-1 interviews, conducted with people who - in my view - are doing interesting work with ideas that matter, often (though not exclusively) from the field of philosophy.

In this one, I have a sit-down conversation with the Polish philosopher Piotr Stankiewicz, who has written the most popular book in Polish discussing Stoicism. Piotr is also a member of the Modern Stoicism team.

In our conversation at the hotel where Stoicon 2017 took place - a conversation interrupted at a few points by staff - we ranged over a number of topics: what the prospects for contemporary Stoicism are, the past and present history of Stoicism, how Stoicism must adapt to the late modern age, how Piotr got interested in Stoicism, some misinterpretations of Stoicism, Stoicism's connections with intentional communities, and a number of other topics.
