The National Arboretum is a wealth of greenery, but it also contains something no other park or garden has—the National Capitol Columns. Robert Aubry Davis takes us through the history of these pillars of history. When the original Corithian columns were removed from the east side of the US Capitol in 1958, they were in need of a new home. In 1984, Ethel Garrett approached her old friend, landscape designer Russell Page about relocating the columns to the National Arboretum, where they've been a popular attraction ever since.
