To Make Horse Gram Chutney
Horse Gram - 1/2 Cup ( 125 Gms )
Oil - 2 Tsp (Buy: [ Ссылка ])
Chana Dal - 1 Tbsp (Buy: [ Ссылка ] )
Urad Dal - 1 Tbsp (Buy: [ Ссылка ])
Red Chilli - 15 Nos (Buy: [ Ссылка ])
Garlic - 7 Cloves
Tamarind
Coconut - 1/2 Cup
Rock Salt - 1 Tsp (Buy: [ Ссылка ])
Asafoetida / Hing - 1/4 Tsp (Buy: [ Ссылка ])
Water
For Tempering
Oil - 3 Tsp
Mustard Seeds
Cumin Seeds
Curry Leaves
Method
To a kadai, Take half cup of horse gram and dry roast it without adding any oil.
Once the horse gram gets roasted, the colour changes to a nice golden brown, remove it from the kadai and let it cool.
To the same pan, add two tsp of oil, one tbsp of channa dal, one tbsp of urad dal, and fry them.
Add 15 red chillies, 7 cloves of garlic and roast them as well.
Add a small piece of tamarind and half cup of freshly grated coconut and mix everything well.
Add a tsp of rocksalt, switch off the stove, and add quarter tsp of hing and mix again.
Transfer it to a plate and cool completely.
Transfer the roasted horse gram to a mixer jar and all the fried ingredients and grind without adding any water.
Add little water and grind again.
Transfer the chutney to a bowl.
To a tempering pan, add three tsp of oil, add mustard seeds, cumin seeds and curry leaves and transfer to the chutney.
Tasty horse gram chutney is ready to be served with hot rice, idlis and dosas.
