▶This Beer-Braised Carnitas recipe is one of my all-time favorites that we've ever shared on PWWB. I've been making it for years & everyone who tries it loves it – it has everything there is to love about slow cooked & succulent pork carnitas, but it’s super amped up on flavor thanks to loads of citrus, spices, & beer.
While traditional pork carnitas are cooked in lard in a large copper pot (kind of like a confit that utilizes the entire hog), I find that a simple braise-then-broil is an easy method for home cooks to mimic the irresistible texture of more authentic versions.
After an hours-long braise in a Dutch oven, the pork carnitas are succulent & fall-apart tender, infused with rich, aromatic flavor. It's a great all-purpose recipe for pork carnitas tacos, burritos, burrito bowls, nachos, salads…whatever you’re in the mood for! I hope you love it just as much as we do! ♡
