Many things in life are complicated, your coffee doesn’t have to be. This one turned out to be pretty nice I think! I’ve been grinding into a cup ever since I started with my own home espresso setup. I’ve tried dosing into a portafilter at the beginning, but I just didn’t like it that much with the grinder I was using. I’ve just rediscovered this route and I find it more enjoyable! There certainly are grinders that are better or worse for this kind of a workflow, but throwing away all the trendy faff and just tamp, pull and drink is actually very, very satisfying (especially with Pearl’s portafilter mode).
