Bonita Norris, an ex-pupil from the Holt School who, at twenty two, is the youngest British woman to climb Mount Everest, delivered an inspiring message to the young people who attended the Wokingham Borough Council's Schools' Careers Fair on Wednesday October 6.
The event provided an opportunity for young people to spe...ak directly to employees and employers about the jobs they do. Offering the chance to find out about a wide variety of careers, the fair at Loddon Valley Leisure Centre in Lower Earley had representatives from every skills sector - IT, finance, health, hospitality, creative and media, construction, science, business, administration and public service - including some of the most significant employers in the region.
They also offered advice and provide insights into the sector they represent. Attending employers included Visa, HSBC, Foster Wheeler, Deloitte, Kier and retail centre The Oracle, to name just a few.
