South Africa’s local government has began a new chapter, with the elections producing surprises. The IEC declared the elections free and fair... the electoral body said that the ANC still dominated in the country’s 213 municipalities, having achieved a majority in 161 of them. The DA remains the main opposition with a majority in 13 municipalities.
