Glatiramer is a prescription medication used to treat symptoms of Relapsing-Remitting Multiple Sclerosis. It belongs to a group of drugs called immunomodulators, which are thought to work by stopping the immune system from destroying the protective coating around nerve fibers.
Glatiramer comes in an injectable form in a prefilled syringe. It is injected in the fatty layer just under the skin, once daily.
Common side effects include redness, pain, or itching at the injection site.
