I think dim sum is the perfect breakfast or early lunch meal. The kiddos and wife were craving soup dumplings (xiao long bao) so we went to Yank Sing which happened to be a 2 minute walk from our hotel. As soon as I walked in I had a moment of deja vu. I didn't think I had ever eaten at Yank Sing--even though it is a legend in the SF dim sum scene--and I surely could not ever remember making a previous reservation. Upon further investigation I confirmed with my sister that she had in fact taken me here over a decade ago, and everything immediately clicked. I remember the dim sum being aggressively delicious at Yank Sing which is high praise for me given that I am not the biggest fan of most dim sum offerings. Thankfully the xiao long baos were still on the menu so we sat down and prepared to feast on some fresh and delicious dumplings, rolls and baos.
