AJ Mitchell - Unstoppable - Vevo LIFT

How do you know you're headed in the right direction, career-wise? Write a song at the age of 13, release it independently, and have it clock more than 50 million streams on the music services. That's what happened to AJ Mitchell and "Used To Be." Now 18, the Illinois native has been part of our DSCVR: Artists To Watch program, and graduated to Vevo LIFT this year, too. Mitchell has flaunted both craft and charisma for several years now, initially earning himself a strong following with his R&B covers on YouTube, and then releasing his own material on 2018's 'Hopeful' EP. From "Girls" to "All My Friends" to "Slow Dance," his recent string of tracks gets more and more impressive. So we invited him to be part of the LIFT program, and headed out to a gorgeously desolate Illinois drive-in to catch him at work. For this version of "Unstoppable," he blew a whistle and invited some pals along to help flesh out the performance. They are the Belleville East High School Marching Lancers Drum Line, and it is amazing.
