After college, Brianna Prescott wasn’t sure what career path to take. Having earned a degree in human biology, she knew she wanted to be in the medical field but found herself debating between professions. She eventually picked nursing as a second degree and chose Xavier to accelerate her education.

Before joining our ABSN program, Brianna considered medical school and physician assistant school, but she wanted to work with patients at a deeper level, prompting her decision to go to nursing school.

She also didn’t want to spend four more years on another bachelor’s degree, which is what made our ABSN program such a good fit for her. Because it’s a second-degree program, Brianna is building on her human biology degree and will graduate as a practice-ready nurse in 16 months.

In her video, Brianna maps out her nursing journey as well as provides great insight into our ABSN program. She goes into detail about why she absolutely loves our nursing faculty and why she’s confident she’ll be prepared to sit for the NCLEX-RN® licensure exam when the time comes.

Slated to graduate from our ABSN program in May 2018, Brianna plans to look into a master’s degree program, with the intent of one day becoming a midwife.
