During its Oct. 27 work session, the Chesterfield County School Board received a proposal for the continued expansion of elementary school Center-Based Gifted services.
The proposal is available at bit.ly/CCPS-CBGExpansion and includes:
→ Adjusted feeder patterns for existing elementary school CBG sites;
→ Creation of new CBG sites at Gates, Reams and Watkins elementary schools for the start of the 2021-22 school year, as well as a new site at Matoaca Elementary no earlier than the 2022-23 school year; and
→ Acknowledgement that future re-alignment may be necessary due to continued student enrollment growth in the 360 West corridor.
In order to accommodate the potential crowd size while socially distancing as appropriate, Chesterfield County Public Schools will host a virtual town hall on Monday, Nov. 16 from 6:30-8 p.m. The town hall will be streamed on the school division’s Facebook page (@chesterfieldschools) and YouTube channel (ccpsva).
The town hall will include a review of the presentation and a question/answer period with a panel that includes representatives from the Gifted Services team, the Planning office and the Transportation office.
