“When I first saw Raj, I thought he would be just like the character he had played in LSD – creepy. But later that day when I spoke to him, I realized that he is the most genuine and passionate person I have ever met. He even told me that the first time he saw me was in an ad and right after that, he thought, ‘I’m going to marry her.’ It was so ironic!
Once I started working with him, I saw a passion in his eyes for the work he did and respect for everyone around him. I just couldn’t stop falling in love with the man he was. It was just like magic. Everything was natural with him. More than anything, he was my best friend who stood by me through thick and thin. 11 years later, when we tied the knot, I knew I was the luckiest. When people label me as just ‘Rajkummar Rao’s wife’ he stands up for me and says, ‘No, I am Patralekhaa’s husband!’ And that’s what makes him different.”
From Shillong to Mumbai, Patralekhaa chose to ditch the life that her family chose for her and dared to dream big. With her parents' support, she began her journey! Journey of endless auditions, rejections, and struggles to make a mark for herself in an industry where she knew no one.
In this episode, she gets candid like never before – talking about her journey, her first film, meeting Rajkummar Rao, and marrying the love of her life after being together for 11 years. She spoke about her struggles and how she always kept a positive attitude to move on in life.

About Humans of Bombay –
Humans of Bombay is a movement that started 10 years ago. We believe that every person has a story to tell and we want to help them tell these stories. In these years we’ve published stories across genres – stories of love, hope, faith, and courage. And through our storytelling, we’ve built an engaged community of over 6M!
Our idea is simple – to strike a chord with our community and catalog the beat of humanity, one story at a time.
