A 40 years old patient was admitted with 4 days lasting dysphagia, 2 weeks after interrupting his PPI treatment. He described similar episodes for the last 10 years. Previous barium swallow studies and manometry were normal. Endoscopy disclosed impacted food at the lower oesophagus. Extraction was achieved with the patient intubated under general anesthesia in order to prevent inhalation. The foreign body was extracted with the use of standard polypectomy snare. No stenosis was seen. Multiple biopsies were performed. Double PPI treatment was given and patient was scheduled for manometry, PHmetry 1 month later.
