This October, we are celebrating and sharing stories from our Black NHS colleagues in southwest London.
The theme for this year, ’Reclaiming Narratives,’ marks a powerful shift in how we honour Black history and culture. It’s about redefining narratives that historically overshadow Black achievements and instead highlighting stories of resilience, success, and empowerment.
In our final video, Connie Ikhifa, Senior Children’s and Young Persons Programme Manager for Croydon, shares why it’s so important to celebrate Black children and young people as individuals with unique strengths and voices. By doing so, we can better support their mental health and address health inequalities within our healthcare system.
