SPJIMR's Business Environment and Policies Committee hosted its annual Budget session on the topic, 'Decoding the Union Budget 2022' on February 4, 2022.
The speakers for the event were:
Dr. Rajat Kathuria- Dean, School of Humanities and Social Sciences; Professor, Economics at SNU, Former Consultant at World bank, Former Director and Chief Executive at the Indian Council for Research on International Economic Relations (ICRIER)
Ms. Yuvika Singhal - Economist at QuantEco Research, 11+ years of experience in Indian economic research, Former Economist at Yes Bank and ICICI Bank.
The event was attended by more than 175 participants comprising of students and faculty across SPJIMR programmes.
Dr. Kathuria provided deep insights on the fiscal deficit, the manufacturing sector, and the
International Arbitration Center. He also offered his views on the trending themes of cryptocurrency and the digital rupee.
Ms. Singhal helped attendees gain a thorough grasp of the budget's implications on various
sectors such as Startups, MSMEs and Tourism. She also assisted the batch in deciphering key
macroeconomic concepts like inflation.
